C’est du jazz de cellule. Du jazz joué derrière un quadrillage impeccable mais sans maton ni caïd pour contredire ni interdire quoi que ce soit. Cellules, donc. Cellules rythmiques répétées pour le seul plaisir d’être modulées. Patterns harmoniques mis en place pour le seul bonheur d’être soumis à la rupture ou stoppés net. Ça expérimente sec, Felsh! en scène. Comme une interjection, le nom. Comme un Eureka viandard et instinctif. Et ça produit dans le trio. Depuis l’héritage français du XXème, la culture club, les partitions contemporaines. Le son de la contrebasse est solide et les pistes tracées par le piano, à cru ou préparé, sont parfaitement complexes, parfaitement ludiques. Avec la dose utile de pose et d’attitude. Bien sûr, c’est un peu raide mais ces structures enchaînées le sont avec une joie visible. Felsh! fouille et cherche, obsession à peine convaincue par l’envie de trouver. La joie est dans la recherche. Meilleur exemple avec Céramique, écrit par Clément Merienne. Le soin est mis dans l’élégie rapide, la miniature vive, l’atmosphère. Le jeu de la surprise sensible semble balisée par le drive libre de Loup Godfroy. Batteur imparable qui garde le jeu du trio constamment très ouvert. Felsh, faich’, vraiment pas simple à enfermer en cellule.
