C’est surtout une descente radicale et moelleuse dans le caveau de la famille jazz, dans l’ADN même de cette musique. Et dans cet ADN, il y a une résolution féroce de vivre à plusieurs. Mieux que le meilleur des trouples ou des communautés hippies. 9 albums pour assembler le prestige à l’invention, pour redécouvrir les syncopes à plaisirs de quelques figures, balèzes dans l’aventure jazz comme Gary Bartz, Marcos Valle ou Roy Ayers. Pour ce Round 10, Younge & Muhammad accrochent les noms parfaits de Kaidi Tatham, Cut Chemist, Georgia Anne Muldrow ou encore Pink Siifu à la hype du tableau de service. Ce Remixes est fascinant. Derrière le petit mensonge du titre, il y a une vérité. Celle où 9 producteurs et artistes rebranchent le jazz à l’énergie actuelle. Pas de remix mais des réinventions, des ré-imaginations de titres emblématiques pris par l’amour d’un détail, le bonheur d’un motif. Un seul exemple, le Nancy Wilson de Brian Jackson que revisite la triade Shigeto, Ahya Simone et Dez Andres.
