Akinmusire doesn’t play the Doom Prophets in this black album, but paints a chiaroscuro of a masterly and confounding fluidity. Et ces derniers jours, focus sur une histoire malmenée, des points sensibles sur la condition noire aux States, il y en a quelques-uns. Et des moments rugueux, on pourrait écrire la litanie sur l’asphalte américain. Noir, rougi ces derniers jours. Akinmusire ne joue pas les Cassandre alarmiste dans cette galette black, mais pose un clair-obscur d’une fluidité magistrale et confondante.
