Cabin Cousin. In another album on this podium, Branko Mataja plugged his guitar into a Leslie booth. Here, with ‘Fluid_e’, Antonin Leymarie, powerful one-man-band, plugs in his drum set. To stand out? No doubt, but more surely to go into another territory than the sampling dear to electro-DJs and other producers who are fans of machines. Here, Leymarie extends the discoveries made within the Imperial or the Magnetic Ensemble. In short, to make abstraction concrete. Classy paradox! And the 4 tracks that came out of the booth are more than just sound tests. Without stumbling, the equations implemented exceed any fiction to go and find the holy trilogy of the drummer. Ici, avec Fluid_e, Antonin Leymarie, one-man-band en puissance, y branche son set de batterie. Pour se démarquer ? Sans doute mais plus sûrement pour aller tutoyer un autre territoire que le sampling cher aux electro-DJ et autres producteurs fans de machines. Ici, Leymarie prolonge les découvertes faites au sein de l’Impérial ou du Magnetic Ensemble. En gros, rendre l’abstraction concrète. Classe paradoxe ! Et les 4 tracks sorties de la cabine sont plus que des essayages sonores. Sans trébucher, les équations mises en œuvre dépassent toute fiction pour aller chercher la sainte trilogie du batteur. Le jazz, l’Afrique et la science du rythme. Bel hommage à Fernand Schirren sur un Rebond impatient et parfait. Le reste est à l’écho. Maitrise des dynamiques et dramaturgie complexe et précise. Ces 4 titres, qui en appellent du cœur bien d’autres, jouent les passerelles entre musique organique et dancefloor. Leymarie, hyperactif certes, n’est jamais dispersé mais centré tout entier sur le pur plaisir de ciseler, d’agencer ses horlogeries diaboliques. Donc fascinantes.
